The Lane also contained one of Coney Street's unusual buildings - the 17th century Bagnio (Turkish Baths). The building did not last long as a bathing house but served many other purposes throughout its life including a school, printing works, and organ builders workshop.
In 1925 all the buildings were demolished to make way for the new Saxone Shoe company premises, the current No.12 building.
