Boots Building

The building's frontage was made unique for York with both the City and York Minster crest included in the decoration. The design also features carved grotesques, devilish faces looking down at the street below.

Examples of the genuine sixteenth and seventeenth century timber-framed buildings which the design emulates can also be found on Coney Street, at numbers 16 - 22.

The Grade II listing recognises this building’s significance and although Boots have since moved to more modern premises, the building remains a landmark of Coney Street!
